Fantastic Quality but, not in love with the hard to get off backing

My fault in not realizing I had wanted the 'roll of stickers' so they could be easily peeled off. These are fantastic looking, feel good in your hand, and are perfect for sweaty racewear at the completion of the race. But I had to use a weeding tool to get the sticker backing off. What's the secret to making these easy to get off. They are so nice, but they love their backing.
