Introducing custom acrylic magnets

Posted by Sticker Mule on

We’re excited to introduce our newest custom acrylic product: acrylic magnets.

For those keeping score at home, here’s a quick rundown of all the acrylic products we've launched and the year we launched them.

If you’ve followed Sticker Mule for a while, you know we take an old-school approach to product launches. We own our manufacturing facilities, source high-quality materials, and are obsessive about product design. Over 23,000 reviewers of our acrylic products have raved about our product quality and craftmanship.

Many of our customers over the years have asked for acrylic magnets. There’s something about their sturdiness, sharp colors, and upscale glass-like look that stands out, offering a more premium and lasting option than traditional vinyl magnets.

We spent years finding the materials, cutting technology, and production process that went into this product. Pair those with Sticker Mule’s simple order process, free proofing, and free shipping, and we’re confident you’ll find these to be the best acrylic magnets out there.

Here are just a few things that make us stand out from the competition:

Artwork and print quality

High resolution

Our minimum recommended resolution for artwork is 300 pixels per inch (PPI) or better yet, a vector image to ensure sharp, crisp artwork. Many other manufacturers top out at 150 PPI or less, resulting in pixelation or blurry designs.

White ink layer

We include a dedicated white ink layer behind your artwork with a precise offset of -0.002 inches, ensuring opacity and vibrancy. Many companies skip this step, resulting in designs that look washed out or translucent on transparent acrylic.

Created for designers

While we make our process simple for anyone to use, designers will appreciate our levels of customization, from providing artwork in either CMYK or RGB formats, to our support of rich black guidelines for deeper, more professional black tones.

Material and construction

Acrylic face with glossy finish

Our use of a glossy acrylic face with matte ink creates a premium look and feel. Cheaper magnets typically use low-grade plastic or vinyl with no finish distinction, making them look dull and flimsy.

Neodymium magnets

We use a nickel-plated N42-grade neodymium magnet. Neodymium is the strongest magnetic material available, significantly more powerful than the weaker ferrite or ceramic magnets others use. Our internal testing shows that one of our magnets can hold up eight sheets of standard 8.5" x 11" copy paper on a refrigerator.

Thickness

At 0.118" (about 3cm), plus 0.04" for the magnet (about 1mm), our magnets are thicker and sturdier than many alternatives.

Protective film

All of our magnets come from the factory with protective film to protect them from scratches during shipping, something rarely seen in mass-produced, low-quality magnets.

Precision in design and assembly

Precision laser cutting

Our factories are able to cut sharp, precise edges (with a 0.03" radius for rounded corners). In cheaper magnets, you'll often find rough and uneven die-cutting or even manual trimming.

Inner cuts

We support a custom 0.25" inner cut with a minimum 0.125" buffer from the edge. For non-designers, this means you can have a quarter-inch hole or shape inside the magnet, with sufficient material around it to keep it strong and intact. Budget magnets typically lack such customization options.

Fully assembled

The neodymium magnet is securely glued during assembly, unlike low-quality options where magnets are often loosely attached or require user assembly. This is especially important if your magnets will be around young children or pets.

Order and Size Flexibility

Size Range

We offer a wide range of size options, as small as 0.75" x 0.75", as large as 3" x 3", and everything in between. Most magnet makers limit you to standard sizes with no customization.

Quantity Options

You can order between 10 and 2,000 magnets in multiples of 10, unlike most manufacturers who only sell in bulk and don’t offer smaller batches.

File Size Limit

We support production files up to 30MB, accommodating detailed designs.

Production Process

Digital inkjet printing

We use a sophisticated print method with an expanded ink set, enabling richer gradients and color accuracy. Contrast this to cheaper magnets that often rely on basic screen printing or low-resolution methods with limited colors.

No Full Bleed Limitation

While full bleed isn’t possible, the precise border size (0.03125") and cut-line standards ensure a clean, professional edge you can't find anywhere else.

Free proofing, free shipping

Ordering acrylic magnets follows the same simple process you know from Sticker Mule. Upload your design, get a free proof from our team, and receive your magnets in just 4 days—with free shipping included.

Conclusion

We're happy to now offer you two options for custom magnets.

Since 2016, we’ve offered flexible vinyl magnets, which are still the go-to for affordable logo giveaways, easy-to-mail options, or a handy business card substitute.

Acrylic magnets open up a whole world of creative possibilities. Picture a family photo sealed in crystal-clear acrylic, a wedding favor too beautiful to toss after the reception, or a company logo so sharp and glossy it feels like a collector’s item. Or, dream up something totally your own, limited only by your creativity. We can't wait to see what you come up with!
