Great tape, but isn't self adhesive

The tape turned out looking really great! I probably should have paid more attention, but I assumed it would be self-adhesive with a backing you just pull off. In reality, they send a sponge and you have to get it wet with water for it to become sticky. This made it a bit inconvenient and messy to apply, but it wasn't the end of the world. I'm sure it's totally standard for packing tape, I'm just used to using the clear stuff on a roll which is way easier. Again, the final product looked great, I just would have preferred something more efficient to apply.
