Can't write on without smearing

The printing and appearance of these labels was great, no issues there. And they seem pretty durable and waterproof, but we were wanting to use them as shipping labels that could have the address directly written on them. Despite following the instructions of only using ballpoint ink or permanent markers, we were unable to write on them without smearing (even while waiting a while for drying). I do not recommend these labels for writing on, but if you are looking to just have a durable label that doesn't get any writing added then they would be great.
