Custom magnets

Our flexible custom magnets are made from iron (ferrite) powder mixed with a proprietary blend of rubber and plastic compounds, then pressed into sheets.

How it’s built (layer by layer):

• Magnetic base: Ferrite powder provides the magnetic properties
• Flexible binder: Rubber + plastic compounds make the magnet durable and bendable
• Printable face: A high-quality white vinyl top layer for crisp, vibrant printing

Each sheet is printed with your design and cut to match your unique shape.

Don't let their size fool you! Our custom magnets are thin, high-energy magnets with a pull of 65 pounds per square foot. This means one square foot of material can hold up to 65 pounds. That's stronger than most flexible custom magnets on the market today.

In practical terms, this means:

• They'll easily hold three sheets of standard 8.5"x 11" paper on a fridge, so you can turn your kid's art into a magnet to hold your kid's art!

• They'll stay stuck to cars driving at highway speeds, so you can boast that "my other car is a bicycle" wherever you go.

Our custom magnets have a thickness of about 0.38 mm, or 15 mils (1 mil = 0.001 inches). For reference, this is about the same thickness as our die cut stickers with the backing on.

Our acrylic magnets have a thickness of about 4 mm, or 158 mils, including the magnet itself.

Keep in mind that magnet thickness does not necessarily correlate with magnet strength. The strength of a magnet primarily depends on the quality of the raw materials and the manufacturing process.

With proper care, our custom magnets can last for many years. We use durable materials and waterproof ink to produce strong magnets with vibrant, lasting colors.

As with any product, a magnet's life expectancy depends on how you use it and its exposure to the elements. Magnets used to decorate your fridge, for example, will maintain their vibrancy longer than magnets on your car, which are subjected to persistent sunlight, rain, dirt, and wind.

Our magnets can be used both indoors and outdoors. However, they do not have a UV laminate, so outdoor magnets may fade more quickly if they're consistently in direct sunlight. To ensure a long life, avoid exposing your magnet to extreme heat, moisture, or chemicals and subjecting it to physical wear and tear.

Custom magnets stick best to ferromagnetic metals—materials with strong magnetic properties like iron and steel (and also nickel or cobalt).

They won’t stick to aluminum, copper, brass, and most stainless steel.

Common surfaces magnets stick to:

• Steel door refrigerators
• Metal filing cabinets
• Dishwashers with steel exteriors
• Whiteboards with a steel backing
• Metal doors
• Washing machines and dryers with steel exteriors
• Toolboxes
• Steel shelving
• Metal beams or frames

Not sure if something is magnetic? Touch a regular fridge magnet to it—if the fridge magnet doesn’t stick, your custom magnet won’t either.

Custom magnets come in any size from 0.75" × 0.75" up to 36" × 24" (3' × 2').

Your magnet can be cut to any custom shape that fits your artwork—not just circles, squares, or rectangles.

We can also add one inner cut if:

• The inner cut is at least 0.25" diameter
• There’s at least 0.25" of material between the inner cut and the outer edge

Our magnets have a 65-pound per square foot pull strength, allowing them to securely adhere to cars and stay put at highway speeds. Their durable material resists rain, snow, and sleet. Made from 15mil (0.38mm) material, they offer a stronger hold, better adhesion, and a more aerodynamic design than the 20mil (0.5mm) or 30mil (0.726mm) magnets sold by many competitors.

Flexible magnets generally won't damage car paint if used properly, but we recommend the following best practices to keep your car and your magnet in good shape.

• Apply to a clean, flat metal surface with no dents or deep curves.
• Remove and reposition regularly (weekly is ideal). Be sure to remove any trapped dirt or debris and clean any moisture that might have collected under the magnet.
• Store flat when not in use to prevent warping.
• Avoid applying over decals or vinyl wraps.
• Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme heat (such as direct sun), which may compromise the magnet's backing.
